A trunk show is an exclusive event in which designers or vendors showcase their collection and unique merchandise to specific customers and store personnel. It may include music, drinks, and food as a way to make the event welcoming and celebratory. Trunk shows are a great way for retailers to build customer/brand loyalty and for customers to learn about upcoming trends in the fashion industry. The trunk show illustrates how a particular brand or vendor differentiate themselves from competitors in similar markets. Customers can also experience and learn more about the brand's story. Designers get a chance to interact directly with customers, receive feedback and learn what works for their business. Based on this face to face interaction and connection between designers and customers, sales have the potential to increase and spike.
Below is an example of a trunk show invitation I created based off of a trend project on J Crew.
